Wix.com, a fast growing start up that deals with Flash website building and has introduced new cutting edge technology in the field has been evolving as a community over the last few months. The company is encouraging this direction and will soon be introducing the Wix Arena.

Wix.com Musician Arena

The Wix Arena will be an expansion of the current designer's directory, except that it will also include specialized directories for copywriters, SEO strategists and musicians. Ultimately the Arena will be the ideal place for service providers to meet with potential customers through an interface that will integrate the different aspects of web design, creation, online marketing and web promotion, and will provide easy access to a variety of services.

Musicians are at the center of attention now at Wix. The company is encouraging Musicians to donate a few tracks to a growing collection that will be made available to users creating a free website.

Musicians who are interested in joining this new Professional directory are invited to send samples of their work (tracks they are willing to donate) to Arik Sternberg at arik@wix.com, a Wix executive who will be coordinating this new initiative. The samples should be presented using the Wix website builder. Musicians can create a website or widget that will include their music and any other information they want known about themselves and send the Wix URL to the Mr. Sternberg's email address.

Wix users that are interested in original tracks for their new website will fill out a form explaining the kind of music he/she is looking for. This search, along with all its details, will be transferred to Wix's list of professionals who will in turn provide quotations and proposals for their work. The same concept will also eventually be implemented for copywriters, SEO strategists, designers etc.

Collaborations through Wix are not a new thing. One example of a mutually beneficial meeting of professionals can be seen in one of Wix's premium websites, bestyledstudio.com, the website's creator explains:

"When we went to create our site, Alisa Fedele's site was featured as an example, we liked her music so much, we contacted her and told her we were using Wix for our site design. She was very excited about collaborating with us and we are honored to be able to feature one of her songs on our site."
